Are you getting excited about the upcoming ski season? I sure am. One way to increase the stoke is to head to a pre-season event. I’ll be heading to The Snowbound Expo in Boston again this year to help kick off the 2024-25 ski and riding season. The Snowbound Expo Boston is the home for winter and outdoor sports. They bring together inspirational speakers, the latest gear, cutting-edge technology, apparel and resorts all under one roof. This is the biggest community meet-up of the year and perfectly timed for snow sport lovers that are getting ready for the season ahead. Snowbound Expo is a community event for everyone and I can’t wait to see you at the show!
Regular price tickets will be $31 for the weekend or $16 per day.

What is the Snowbound Expo
The expo is set to take place on November 15-17th at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center in Massachusetts. It’s a family-friendly event that is about experiences and excitement (there’s a little retail, but lots more to DO and SEE). They’ve set up a schedule of entertainment that’s worth spending more than a day visiting.
It’s a big venue, so wear comfy shoes and pace yourself. Some of the favorite brands that will be there include: IKON Pass, Burgeon Outdoor, Boston Ski & Sports Club, Darn Tough, Fischer and Ski the East, Parlor Ski & Snowboards, and Kulkea. More include Meier Skis, Nordica, OOSC Clothing, Subaru, Teton Gravity Research, and many more. There is food available for sale too, so you can fuel the kids up if they get tired!
Colorado Ski Shop is the official retailer for this year’s expo and will offer close-out deals and exclusive discounts for incredible brands. Visitors will be able to leave the expo with gear in hand the very same day.
One of my favorite things to do is to chat with the resorts about what’s new. This year the resorts include Burke Mountain, Jay Peak Vermont, Killington, Loon Mountain Resort, Ragged Mountain Resort, Saddleback Maine, Sugarloaf, Tenney Mountain, and Wachusett Mountain Ski Area, with more announcements coming soon. Vail Resorts will showcase their eight North American Eastern resorts including a music den and competitions!

Snowbound Speakers
In addition to all the excitement above, one of the big reasons to attend is the speaker series. “Snowbound Expo inspires winter sports enthusiasts to come together and celebrate snowsports. This year we’re incredibly excited about another standout speaker program, highlighting some of the greatest winter sports talent to come out of New England’s winter sports community” said Stuart Dacre, Commercial Director of Snowbound Expo. “From gold medal Olympians to media personalities and recognizable commentators, visitors will be blown away by what these speakers have to say about their winter sports experiences.”
Here are some of the highlights:
- Meet 46-Time World Cup Champion Mogul Hannah Kearney: A Vermont native, Hannah qualified for the U.S. National ski team when she was just 16 years old. This moment in time launched a long and successful career including three Olympics, three World Championships gold medals, and winning 16 World Cups in a row with a total of 46 World Cups during her career. Hannah retired in 2015 on the day she tied the record for most World Cup wins. After retiring, she graduated from Westminster College with a marketing degree and earned a personal trainer certification from the American Council on Exercise. She currently works as a sports performance trainer and for the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Team’s Foundation as an Athlete Gift Officer. Hannah serves on the International Ski Federation (FIS) Council and the board of the Youth Sports Alliance. And Hannah is a ski mom!!!!
- A Fireside Chat with Alice Merryweather: A top-ranked American downhill skier, World Cup contender, and Olympian, Alice is local to the area having grown up in Hingham, MA and chasing her older brother around the slopes of the Northeast. For the longest time, her goals were simple: “have fun and beat the boys.” In 2020, Alice became one of the first female professional athletes in the world to vocalize her struggle with an eating disorder and treatment, garnering national and international media attention. Since then, Alice has emerged as a leader in sharing her story on mental health and body image.
- Pre-Season Training Advice From Donny Pelletier: Commonly referred to as “Maine’s Finest Athlete”, Donny began his career in the rugged landscapes of the Pine Tree State. He has broken multiple speed records, consistently broken his previous fastest time, and takes great pride in sharing Maine culture with the far reaches of the globe.
- Interview With Todd Richards on the Inspiration Stage: An Olympian, commentator, author, podcaster, actor, entrepreneur, and a legendary pro snowboarder, Richard is originally from Paxton MA where he credits much of his success in snowboarding to where he grew up riding. Richards spent much of his time on the slopes of Wachusett, Gunstock, and Stratton and the variable conditions of east coast winters gave him a sharper set of skills when it came to riding a snowboard in all types of terrain. Richards comes from a skateboarding background and began competitive snowboarding around the time half pipes were new to the scene. He went on to claim multiple X Games medals (his first Gold being at the inaugural X Games event in 1997), multiple US Open Halfpipe titles, and many other contests and wins. Richards joined Team USA in Nagano, Japan, for snowboarding’s inauguration into the 1998 Winter Olympic Games. Today he serves as a live commentator and the “voice” of action sports events, including the Winter Olympics, Dew Tour, Nitro Games, US Grand Prix, and more.

I’ll be there on Friday early and then again on Sunday, I’ll be walking around with magnets and other goodies in my pockets–so be sure to stop me and say “hi”!
