Delta Millworks plans to start work in June on a 33-acre, $34.7 million headquarters in the Hill Country town of Wimberley. The headquarters, which will have 88,000 square feet of building space, is expected to open next fall. The 75 employees no longer fit in the original 50,000-square-foot factory that was built 75 years ago. The new facility’s construction is expected to create an estimated 117 jobs.
The Austin Business Journal reports the company has grown from a local millworker and reclaimed lumber operation to a national manufacturer of exterior cladding and decking. It works with architects, builders and end users from design through installation.
The company received federal incentives for the project and is working on securing local incentives. It received $24.5 million in New Market Tax Credits. The company hopes to receive a property tax abatement of 25% over five years from Hays County.
