NRP Group is partnering with the Austin Independent School District on a $142 million housing project. The project is intended to offer affordable housing to teachers, district staff, and families in two distinct properties. The buildings will consist of 684 units: one with 339 units and the other with 335 units. The district will tear down the Anita Coy Facility (photo), which is currently home to the district’s Alternative Learning Center, to make way for the apartments.
The Austin Business Journal reports the site is expected to have about 50% of its units as income-restricted. Â Future residents are not required to be AISD staff.
Some amenities for the site include a pool and a playground. The design firm listed on the site is Hatch + Ulland Owen. The general contractor for the project is NRP Construction.
Construction could start in December 2025, and units could be available for rent in 2028.
