Porsche has apparently been working on improving the aerodynamic flow around the rear of its vehicles, well, forever, but it’s been specifically developing a new active rear diffuser system reportedly since 2016, at least. The new diffuser can retract back under the car when not in use, and should offer some performance improvements for things like EV and supercar efficiency. For a company always on the cutting edge – just look at the GT3 RS – this kind of thing is never not being explored.
