Motorola Razr Fold
4.5 out of 5
Pros
- Massive 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, with 80W USB-C PD charging
- Incredibly bright displays, over 6,000 nits
- First foldable with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3
- Triple 50MP camera setup with some of the largest sensors on any foldable
- Pantone partnership gives the cameras excellent color accuracy and the phone a genuinely premium soft-touch finish
- 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage standard
- Beat the Find N6 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 in CapCut 4K60 video export times
Cons
- Only IP48, while others are more water and dust resistant
- $1,899.99 price tag is steep, even if it’s justified by the current RAM crisis
- Displays are noticeably more reflective than the competition
- No equivalent to OPPO’s Boundless View multi-tasking
- Minimum focusing distance on the main camera makes close-up shots tough
- No tele-macro mode despite the telephoto sensor being capable of it
The Motorola Razr Fold is amongst the strongest performers from the company that is currently available, and they also have the best cameras. Not a single other Motorola phone comes close when it comes to camera output (at least in the US), while the Razr Fold is also strong in other aspects. It has great display brightness, very good battery life, and blazing-fast charging. In terms of performance, the Motorola Razr Ultra (2026) is basically on the same level as the Razr Fold, but it has slower RAM compared to the company’s book-style foldable. No other Motorola phone in the US comes close in terms of performance.

Battery Life & Charging
The Motorola Razr Fold has a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery. This is quite a considerable battery capacity, and it turns out it does help the phone offer great battery life. We were finishing our days with around 40% of battery life, from 6 AM to 11 PM, and we did not baby the phone in any way. The Motorola Razr Fold offers great battery life, so you really don’t have to worry about that.
When it comes to charging, the device supports 80W wired, 50W wireless, 5W reverse wireless, and reverse wired charging. The phone was still charging at 40W when it reached 90%, which is where most phones slow down to under 20W. The full charge took only 42 minutes with an Anker USB-C charger. Why not an offiical one? Because one did not ship in the box, and this one is fully supported
Cameras
Cameras were not exactly Motorola’s strong suit in the past, but this phone does deliver. The Pantone partnership definitely played a role here, and the camera hardware is solid inside this phone. There’s a reason why this is our pick for the best camera from the company as well. It offers well-balanced photos with rich colors, and yet they do not look artificial. The only problem is that you’ll be stuck using macro photography on the ultrawide camera, as tele-macro is not available.
Displays
On the bright side, these displays offer great colors and a quite high refresh rate. On top of that, they can get immensely bright when needed. They are quite reflective, though, so keep that in mind. Despite that, however, they are the phone’s strong suit, that’s for sure.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is thinner, notably lighter, and more powerful in comparison. However, the Razr Fold beats it in the camera department, and the same goes for charging.
Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold
The Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold has proper IP68 certification, which dwarfs the IP48 and IP49 certifications of the Razr Fold. The Pixel 11 Pro Fold offers proper water and dust resistance. When it comes to camera performance, we’d go with the Razr Fold due to higher-quality sensors and less artificial-looking processing. You’ll get more details from the Razr Fold, and more natural colors.
The Motorola Razr Fold is one of the best large book-style foldables, in our opinion we only wish it were a bit cheaper, lighter, and thinner. Other than that, it’s an easy recommendation.
If you’re aiming to get a large foldable from Motorola, this is the only option at the moment. If you can get a great deal for the phone, sure, get it. Its standard price tag is hard to justify at this point in time.

This is a valid option if you’re in the market for a large-format foldable. Not only is it the best Motorola phone overall, but it’s also one of the best book-style foldables out there. It’s for you if you’re looking for a large canvas when unfolded, and a rather large panel when folded as well. It has great battery life and solid cameras for a foldable.
If you simply want a foldable but are looking for something compact, a wide foldable may be a better option for you. Something like the Galaxy Z Fold 8, for example. This is also not one of the lighter book-style foldables, by the way; it’s actually one of the heavier ones.
