Over a month after their announcement, Apple has now officially started selling repair parts for the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max, alongside the M5 Max and M5 Ultra Mac Studio and the M6 or M5 Pro Mac mini models. This comes as part of the Self Service Repair program that Apple launched in 2022.
Apple begins selling repair parts for the iPhone 18 Pro and new Macs
For those unaware, the program lets users in eligible regions buy replacement parts and buy or rent tools to perform their own repairs on supported devices. The company offers repair manuals for several of its products with detailed instructions on the replacement process for each serviceable part. The Self Service Repair Store now also includes several recently launched devices.
This comes the same day Apple announced new and expanded partnerships with US suppliers that make components for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo. If you’re an iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max owner, you can now purchase replacement parts and tools for various components.
The list includes:
- Back glass
- Battery
- Bottom speaker
- Camera
- Display
- Enclosure
- Front camera
- Logic board
- Main microphone
- Other parts
- SIM tray
- Taptic Engine
- Top speaker
The replacement camera module costs $249
Selecting a category shows the available replacement parts and the tools needed for repairs, including suction cups, adhesive cutters, screwdrivers, and screws. Customers also buy these tools and supplies separately. The replacement camera module for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max costs $249, much like last year’s models. That is despite the new variable-aperture system on the latest models. Interestingly, Apple will give back a $59.76 credit for returning the original camera. This brings the effective cost down to $189.24.
Meanwhile, for the Mac Studio (M5 Max and M5 Ultra), Apple is offering replacement parts for almost everything. Right from Thunderbolt and USB-C ports to fans, speakers, logic boards, SSD modules, and power supplies. Lastly, the Mac mini models have a short list. It covers components like fans, speakers, logic boards, batteries, power supplies, and others.
