If you’re having problems with YouTube on your Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8, you’re not the only one. To be more specific, if you’re having alignment problems, you’re not the only one.
YouTube is having issues on the Galaxy Z Fold 8… for some users
An issue was shared via Samsung’s community forum on Sunday, as a user described a new bug. It appears in the YouTube app, as the video thumbnails appear misaligned, as you can see below.
This issue seems to appear on both the main and cover screens of the phone. Since it was posted, Samsung support asked the user to share more information, including a screen recording of the problem.
Now, the company’s community forum is not the only place where the issue was shared. Another Galaxy Z Fold 8 user posted a similar issue on Reddit last week.
The user claims that he’s seeing both oversized and undersized thumbs, and says that some automatically resize when scrolling through the feed. The user also mentioned that the same issue did not appear on the Galaxy Z Fold 6, so it could be unique to the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
One user suggested a possible fix
Another user noted that cleaning the app’s cache and storage, then reinstalling YouTube, could solve the issue. Plenty of users have said that they’re not having issues on their Galaxy Z Fold 8 units, though.
Based on what’s happening, it’s easily possible this issue stems from the YouTube app, not the Galaxy Z Fold 8. It seems to be a scaling issue of some sort, but we’re only guessing here.
As mentioned earlier, Samsung has already reacted and asked for more information from the user who reported the issue. That indicates that we may see a fix soon, even if it’s a YouTube problem, as Samsung will make sure Google is aware.
