When it first appeared, the Audi R8 V10 was a genuinely impressive six-figure supercar with an extraordinary engine on board. Today, however, depreciation has pulled it down into territory occupied by more ordinary high-performance coupes. This means that the R8 can offer a shrewd buyer 10 naturally aspirated cylinders, 525 hp, quattro all-wheel drive, and a mid-engine layout, but still be around $15,000 less than BMW’s smallest M car.
