The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 will get more competition in the near future. The Apple iPhone Duo is getting released this month, and OPPO is aiming to announce its wide foldable in Q1 next year.
More information about that foldable just surfaced, as it will allegedly be called the OPPO Find N7. The OPPO Find N3, N5, and N6 were all regular, square foldables, but the Find N7 will change that, based on rumors.
Some of the OPPO Find N7 specs just surfaced from a trusted source
Digital Chat Station, one of the best-known tipsters around, shared an update via Weibo. He shared some of the OPPO Find N7 specs. The device will be powered by a 2nm chip, though it’s not mentioned which one.
The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max utilizes the 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chip from MediaTek, so that could be the one, unless OPPO decides to go with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon. We’ll have to wait and see.
The tipster also said that the phone will feature a 7.6-inch main display with a “seamless hinge solution”. The OPPO Find N6 still has the most minimal hinge around, so we’re not really worried about that. OPPO knows what it’s doing.
He did not mention the cover display, though. A previous rumor did say that a 5.5-inch cover display will be included, along with a 7.6-inch panel, so that sounds about right.
A 200-megapixel camera will be backed by two other cameras and a multispectral unit
He did say that Samsung’s display is used in the engineering sample at the moment, along with a 200-megapixel main camera. A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera was also mentioned, along with a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. There will also be a 3nm multispectral unit on the back. Needless to say, Hasselblad will also be a part of the offering.
The tipster did not mention the battery, but a 6,500mAh unit was mentioned ina past rumor. If true, the phone will have a 500mAh battery larger than the Find N6, which will be plenty. The OPPO Find N6 offered great battery life, and it had larger displays and a less power-efficient chip, so… there you go.
As a reminder, OPPO is also working on a non-foldable wide smartphone.
