Shop local! Visit ski swaps! Repair and reuse your gear!
That’s usually what you hear me chanting in the build-up to ski season. But if you do see some gaps in the gear you have on hand, Amazon’s Prime Day can be a welcome event.
First, I want to explain how folks like me work with Amazon. We’re given a small (and I mean SMALL—think 1–2%) commission when our communities shop using our links.
On the upside, it costs you NOTHING to support us. You simply shop and buy what you were going to get anyhow, and we get a small cut. Prices don’t go up when you use our links.
And a few times a year, Amazon throws us a bone and offers bonuses—like this month—for writers, creators and influencers who share Amazon links. Those bonuses can add up to hundreds of dollars for small publishers like Ski Moms.
If you don’t see anything in my Top 10 and still want to support Ski Moms, click here and start shopping.

Why Prime Can Be Handy for Ski Families
First, if you’ve been considering it, this is a great time to sign up for an Amazon Prime membership.
Remember that September gear check? If your list revealed missing gloves, outgrown base layers, scratched goggles or a boot dryer that finally gave up the ghost, October Prime Day can be a good time to fill in the gaps.
New Prime members also get free food delivery for a year with Grubhub. That can come in handy when you get home late from a ski weekend and everyone arrives hungry.
I use Amazon for the decidedly unglamorous things that somehow disappear every ski season: hand warmers, ski socks, glove liners, neck gaiters, sunscreen, labels and all those little items I don’t want to discover we’re missing at 6:30 a.m. on a powder day.
And here’s why I think Prime can make particular sense for ski families: When someone loses a mitten on Saturday, being able to get a replacement quickly—or have supplies shipped directly to a ski house or vacation rental—can be incredibly handy.

My Prime Day Picks for Ski Moms
