We’ll be seeing more and more wide foldables moving forward, and the next one is coming in January, it seems. The device is coming from HONOR, as the company is looking to compete with Apple and Samsung.
The iPhone Duo and Galaxy Z Fold 8 are the two main players in the wide foldable space, but they’re not the only ones. The Huawei Pura X Max is also an appealing choice, and the same goes for the Xiaomi 18 Fold, which is still not available outside of China.
HONOR is planning to announce its first wide foldable in January
HONOR’s first wide-foldable is allegedly coming in January, and that one will make its way to global markets, almost certainly. The company has been releasing book-style foldables for years, very compelling ones, and it will be interesting to see its take on a wide foldable. The point is, those book-style foldables usually find their way to global markets.
The information comes from Smart Pikachu, a tipster. This is not the first time we’re hearing about HONOR’s foldable. The first rumor appeared 8 months ago, when the company was said to be working on it.
Its specs surfaced back in July
Based on Digital Chat Station’s information from July, that foldable will feature a 2nm processor. We’re guessing it will be either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chip, or the Dimensity 9600 Pro.
The main display is said to measure 7.6 inches, while the cover panel will measure 5.5 inches. The camera bar on the back will have a horizontal orientation, with a 200MP unit being part of the package. A periscope telephoto camera will also be included.
The tipster also mentioned a 7,000mAh battery. That’s basically all the spec info that was mentioned back then.
HONOR releases its book-style foldalbes under the HONOR V series, so it’s possible the same will happen with this wide foldable. We still don’t know its name, though.
