The Google Pixel 10a is yet another smartphone facing a price hike following months after the launch due to increasing costs of manufacturing components, specifically RAM, as the RAM crisis continues and causes prices hikes globally for everything from phones to laptops.
When Google released the Pixel 10a earlier this year, it launched at a base price of $499.99 for the 128GB model. This was the same price for the Pixel 9a when it launched as well, only it never went up in price after it launched, it only continued to go down in price as more and more discounts were made available.
The Pixel 10a is one of several phones to receive price hikes this week alone. Just today it was reported that the Galaxy A series phones were going up in price, and reports from today and yesterday showed prices of the Galaxy S26 family of devices going up in price across multiple regions. Even NVIDIA is now charging more for its products, with the SHIELD TV Pro costing $100 more, bringing it to $299.99.
The Google Pixel 10a price hike brings it to a starting price of $599.99
Following a launch of the Pixel 11 series at higher prices back in August, Google has now officially raised the price of the Pixel 10a by $100. Its base model that comes with 128GB now costs $599.99, moving it closer to a mid-range flagship tier than a mid-range phone in terms of cost.
Google has not announced the price hike and it hasn’t put out official statements about it either. It simply changed the price on the website and left it at that. This week’s run of price increases are but a small number of them if you count every device that went up since the start of the year, and with the RAM crisis showing no signs of slowing down, customers can expect more of this.
