Ulefone just announced a new app, the Omni Sentinel app. It is a new AI trail and security camera app, with the goal of adding wildlife observation and local monitoring capabilities to compatible rugged smartphones.

Ulefone says that it combines detection, recording, and playback in one app. You can check out the promo video that the company released below.
It is designed for both indoor and outdoor scenarios. That goes for everything from observing wildlife and monitoring a campsite to keeping watch over a garage, driveway, or yard. It can basically turn your phone into a security camera.
You can position the phone to cover an area, and of course preview footage on the device. Ulefone’s built-in AI identifies people, vehicles, and animals. It tags recorded events by category.
It also features adjustable detection sensitivity that allows you to tailor monitoring to different surroundings. There’s a built-in alert function that can play a preset audio warning when activity is detected.
It organizes events on a color-coded timeline
Omni Sentinel also organizes events on a color-coded timeline. You can filter by category and just to relevant moments without a problem. The app supports manual, scheduled, AI-triggered, and background recording modes.
Recordings are stored locally on the device, while you can save footage directly onto a microSD card if your phone supports it. There is no cloud subscription or anything like that.
Omni Sentinel app also takes advantage of compatible camera hardware, as it supports video recording at up ot 4K resolution and infrared night vision as well, if your phone has it.
The app is already available through system updates on selected Ulefone devices. That, for now, includes the Ulefone Armor 30, Armor 24 Pro, and Armor 22 Pro. Support for more models is on the way.
