At the tail end of the 2010s, Jaguar launched its competitor into the era’s burgeoning luxury EV segment. The new I-Pace was fast, distinctive, genuinely good to drive, and felt like more than just an existing Jaguar converted to electric power. However, the economics of the luxury EV market don’t cast the I-Pace in a good light today. A 2020 I-Pace SE may have lost more than 80% of its original MSRP, and due to a recall, some frustrated owners can’t even use the vehicle’s battery to its full potential.
