Google’s Pixel Buds are now getting a few more functions thanks to the connected app status with Gemini, which can now be found in the Gemini app following a recent update of the Pixel Buds app on Android devices.
Users can already interact with Gemini through their Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a, much in the same way they can interact with Gemini through devices like the Pixel Watch 4 and Pixel Watch 5. You simply ask Gemini a question and Gemini will respond. On the Pixel Buds, all you have to do when audio is playing is start talking, and the music will pause for you to ask Gemini something and get a response. Following this update, the number of things Gemini will do for you is increasing to make the overall capability to interact with Gemini hands-free through the earbuds more convenient.
Gemini will be able to control EQ presets and more with the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a linked in connected apps
As spotted by 9To5Google, following the Pixel Buds app update that pushes it up to version 1.0.981607934, you can now find the Pixel Buds app in the connected apps section of Gemini. To find this section, you need to first tap on your profile picture and then tap on the “personal intelligence” section, where you can find the “connected apps” section and enable it. This will also list all the connected apps that are linked to Gemini to allow Gemini control over certain functions.
In the case of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 and Pixel Buds 2a, this now includes being able to adjust EQ presets, turn the noise cancellation on and off, and even change up touch controls or the conversation detection function. That last function is what pauses your audio when the buds pick up that you’re speaking during playback.
