Compare that to the 81 minutes required by last year’s iPhone 17 Pro Max. You’re looking at shaving a massive 26 minutes off a full recharge cycle.
Higher peak wattage and quicker top-ups
The secret behind this speed jump comes down to higher power delivery right when the phone needs it most. During the first 12 minutes on the cable, the iPhone 18 Pro Max pulled a peak charging speed of 52W. This is a noticeable step up from the 35W to 36W peak speeds recorded on its predecessor.
That extra wattage makes a real difference during quick mid-day top-ups. The device hits 34% capacity in just 10 minutes and reaches the 50% mark right at 15 minutes.
