The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra has been ranked as the number one foldable in the country by Consumer Reports. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra reaching the number one spot isn’t based on every single foldable on the market, but according to the report, based on foldables that were tested in the US.
The rankings take several different factors of the phone into account, including reliability, cameras, performance, usability, and more. Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra scored highly across the board, but it received the biggest scores in camera performance, overall performance, and usability. It also scored 91 out of 100 for reliability, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the Galaxy Z Flip 8 which also received the same reliability score. In other words, the Galaxy Z8 lineup can be counted on by users for a long time.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra was not the best overall phone in the Consumer Reports rankings
While Samsung’s latest flagship foldable is the highest ranked foldable for folding smartphones tested in the US, it’s not the highest overall ranked smartphone in the US. That achievement remains with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which Samsung launched earlier this year.According to the report rankings, the Galaxy S26 Ultra was awarded an overall score of 88 out of 100.
It also received a maximum score of 5 in almost every category that Consumer Reports scores based on performance. Consumer Reports gives scores for 10 different performance categories, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra received a score of 5 in 7 of them. This includes display, rear image quality, and battery just to name a few.
While the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra did score well in the Consumer Reports rankings, it also did fairly well in a series of durability tests run by JerryRigEverything over on YouTube.
