A dairy-free frozen dessert product is being recalled for the second time in less than a year.
Danone USA is voluntarily recalling pints of So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert.
The recall is due to “the potential presence of foreign materials, such as small stones and other hard objects, within the cashew bits,” according to a notice issued Tuesday by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
This is word-for-word the same reason why this product was recalled just last December.
On the So Delicious website, the brand boldly states, “We know this is not the quality you expect from us,” despite this now becoming a pattern.
It goes on to nearly mimic its promises from last year: “So Delicious Dairy Free is working swiftly with retail partners to remove the impacted product from shelves. In the meantime, we have identified and corrected this issue and will soon be able to bring the product back to market safely.”
Whether that’s true remains to be seen but, for now, here’s what you need to know about the recalled Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints.
What products are affected?
The only product Danone USA has recalled is the So Delicious Dairy Free Salted Caramel Cluster Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert pints. The recall is for a batch with the following information:
- SKU: 136603
- UPC: 744473476138
- Best-by dates: Any date up to and including April 3, 2028.
Where and when was the product sold?
All Danone USA has said is that the dessert was distributed to retailers nationwide. According to the So Delicious website, its products are sold at major retailers.
