IFA 2026 has been home to a few Android tablet announcements so far, but none are like the XPPEN Magic Pro 13, an Android tablet that was designed as an advanced drawing pad for digital artists and creators. The Magic Pro 13 is a standalone Android drawing pad that XPPEN says can “deliver professional-grade performance and uncompromising creative workflow.”
The Magic Pro 13 comes with a 12.95-inch display that uses an LCD panel, with 3K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate to foster smooth functionality and seamless workflow. In other words, you can draw on this pad and not worry about your actions feeling laggy. One of the things that sets the XPPEN Magic Pro 13 apart from other similar devices is the hardware-level display mode. Using just a single USB-C cable, creators can plug this pad into a PC for enhanced performance. XPPEN says that the pad allows for 16K pressure sensitivity as well as cursor hover support.
The XPPEN Magic Pro 13 isn’t your typical Android tablet
Android tablets are usually bigger versions of smartphones with more capabilities, but you can still use them like a phone, and that’s not what the Magic Pro 13 is all about. It’s powered by Android 16, but it also runs proprietary software from XPPEN and is solely for use as a drawing pad for doing creative work and digital art projects.
The proprietary software is really at the heart of this drawing pad and what it offers to creators. It features a suite of tools, such as Shelf, which is a digital asset management system to keep things neatly organized and accessible. With Shelf, creators can search for keywords to find specific content they’ve worked on, and use smart tagging to speed up the process. It also enables multi-dimensional filtering, and works with XPPEN’s specialized ‘Canvas’ software to simplify the sketching experience and make it more intuitive.
The Magic Pro 13 also comes with the X4 Smart Chip Stylus. This isn’t just a regular stylus. It supports 16,384 levels of pressure sensitivity, tilt recognition, and it attaches to the pad magnetically so you don’t have to worry about losing it. XPPEN also says it now has a lower travel time, having gone down from 0.6mm to 0.3mm, plus it has a 50% faster response speed. In addition to all that, the Magic Pro 13 was built for portability and ease of use. It weighs just 655g, is 6.65mm thin, and it has a 10,200mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging via USB-C. It has 256GB of storage, too, but you can also expand on that by up to 2TB with a microSD card if needed. XPPEN doesn’t mention a price, but it does confirm that the Magic Pro 13 will go on sale in September.
