Stabilizer specialist Hohem is stepping directly into dedicated imaging hardware. Heading to Messe Berlin for IFA 2026 in Hall 20 (booth H20-123) from September 4 to 8, the company showcased its new Hohem Eyepic, a modular device that transforms from a handheld stabilizer into a wearable action camera.
The standout feature of Hohem’s new Eyepic pocket camera lies in its detachable modular design. When docked to the main handle, the device operates as a traditional three-axis stabilized gimbal. However, creators can unclip the lightweight camera unit to use it hands-free via magnetic mounts, a hat clip, or an included lanyard, making it waterproof down to 32.8 feet (10 meters) for underwater and splash footage.
Native vertical resolution and remote handle controls
Rather than cropping a standard horizontal image frame down to fit vertical social feeds, the camera handles portrait video natively. Rotating the integrated 2.51-inch handle touchscreen with one hand causes the lens to physically reorient itself. This way, it captures full 2160 × 3840 vertical 4K video at 60 frames per second directly for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
When the camera module is detached, the mechanical gimbal handle automatically retracts and locks into place. Creators can still monitor a 1080p live video preview and adjust camera settings using the handle’s touchscreen controls from up to 32.8 feet (10 meters) away over a wireless connection.
Smart gimbals and multi-channel audio expansions
Beside the flagship camera, Hohem expanded its smartphone stabilizer lineup with two new models featuring native Apple DockKit tracking inside the iOS camera app:
The iSteady V4 Ultra features a detachable touchscreen remote with live preview capabilities and Frame-to-Track subject tracking. Meanwhile, the iSteady X4 offers an integrated touch panel alongside a 360-degree infinite pan axis for continuous panoramic filming.
To complete the recording setup, Hohem introduced the Mic 2 wireless audio system. Built for multi-person interviews and group panel recordings, the system pairs a single receiver with up to four 7.7-gram transmitters. Each transmitter records 48kHz/24-bit audio with adaptive AI noise cancellation. Plus, it maintains connection stability at distances up to 984 feet (300 meters).
