Samsung‘s next flagship Android tablet is getting closer to release. Thanks to fresh development, we now have a much clearer picture of the raw horsepower sitting under its hood. A new Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra benchmark leak spotted on Geekbench 7 confirms that the upcoming tablet runs on MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9500 processor.
First highlighted by tech tipster Abhishek Yadav and reported by GSMArena, the Wi-Fi model (SM-X940) posted impressive early test numbers. The listing reveals a single-core score of 2,760 and a multi-core score of 9,291. The test device equips 12GB of RAM and runs on Android 17 right out of the box.
Higher clock speeds deliver a genuine performance leap
The benchmark breakdown identifies the processor as MediaTek’s MT6993. This chipset’s CPU layout has one primary core running at an aggressive 4.21GHz, three performance cores at 3.50GHz, and four efficiency cores at 2.70GHz.
Those core frequencies match the standard Dimensity 9500 platform rather than a bumped-up “Plus” edition. Interestingly, the previous-generation Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra relied on the Dimensity 9400 Plus, whose top core maxed out at 3.73GHz.
Even without a “Plus” badge this time around, the generational jump in architecture yields a massive performance upgrade. Comparing these fresh figures to the Tab S11 Ultra’s Geekbench 7 results (2,281 single-core and 8,005 multi-core), the new model delivers roughly 21% faster single-core performance and a 16% boost in multi-core tasks.
Expected configurations and launch timing
The benchmarked test unit packed 12GB of RAM. This figure remains Samsung’s standard configuration for baseline storage options. Following previous release patterns across its phone and tablet lineups, Samsung will likely reserve 16GB RAM options exclusively for high-tier 1TB models.
Samsung is widely expected to officially unveil the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra alongside the Tab S12+ this September. In the meantime, these early benchmark results show that MediaTek’s flagship silicon is more than ready to power Samsung’s top-tier tablet experience.
