A New Lexus NX Is Finally Coming
We can finally put the rumor mill to bed. Lexus has confirmed what we’ve all been guessing: the Lexus NX is getting an update, and it’s landing in just a few days.
Lexus dropped a teaser video on social media, giving us our first official peek at the updated crossover. They’re keeping quiet about whether this is a full-blown new model or just a facelift, but the teasers are already dropping hints.
The NX is a big deal for Lexus. Since the second generation hit US roads in 2021, it’s been a sales champ, thanks to its sharp looks, hybrid options, and just-right size.

A Familiar Shape With Lexus’ New Design Language
Even though Lexus tried to hide details with those moody and shadowy angles, a few details still pop. The headlights are sharper, and the daytime running lights appear to reach deeper into the fenders. It’s not a wild redesign, but it fits right in with Lexus’ latest styling moves.
The green paint in the teaser also pops out. It looks a lot like Nori Green Pearl from the current NX, but under the studio lights, it’s noticeably lighter. Is it a new shade or just a trick of the lighting? We’ll have to wait for the full reveal to find out.
Out back, the silhouette teases some tweaks to the taillights, but Lexus isn’t giving much away. The focus here is on the overall shape and body lines, not the nitty-gritty details.
We haven’t seen the front yet, but odds are it’s getting the new Spindle Body design language, just like the RX and the latest ES.

More Refresh Than Replacement
The NX is at a crossroads in Lexus’ lineup. The current generation showed up in 2021 (2022 model year), so it’s about five years old now. That’s a bit late for a mid-cycle refresh, but still early for a full redesign by Lexus standards.
If you squint at the side profile in the teasers, it looks identical to the current NX. Same roofline, same windows, same overall shape. That pretty much rules out a brand-new platform – this is shaping up to be a thorough refresh, not a total overhaul.
A facelift makes sense. Lexus has been updating its SUV lineup with the new design language, and the NX is one of the last holdouts with the old spindle grille. Giving it a fresh face keeps it looking sharp without waiting years for a full redesign.
As for what’s under the skin, Lexus isn’t saying a word. Powertrains, tech, interior tweaks – it’s all still a mystery.
The good news? We won’t have to wait long. Lexus will pull the covers off the refreshed NX on September 1, Japan Standard Time (JST), and then we’ll finally see what’s really changed on this all-important SUV.
