According to a well-known tipster, the very first smartphone with a triple 200MP camera setup is coming this year. The information comes from Ice Universe, and it’s not difficult to guess which device it is.
The world’s first triple 200MP camera phone is coming soon
The phone in question is the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max, the company’s upcoming flagship. Considering that the OPPO Find X10 Ultra is in doubt of launching at all, this could be the company’s flagship until Q4 2027.
In any case, Ice Universe says that the phone will utilize Samsung’s newly released 200MP ISOCELL HPC sensor, and claims that it will offer “specs that are almost beyond description.”
Another trusted tipster mentioned something similar in May
This information is probably accurate, as this is Ice Universe we talk about. As if that’s not enough, another trusted tipster mentioned something similar back in May. He said that this phone will arrive with three 200MP cameras on the back, though he did not mention the HPC sensor.
The OPPO Find X9 Ultra, the company’s current flagship, arrived in April, and it has two 200MP cameras on the back. OPPO utilized those cameras for the main camera and one of its periscope telephoto cameras.
Well, the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max could switch to a three-camera setup on the back and utilize 200MP cameras across the board. Those cameras will be main (wide), periscope telephoto, and ultrawide snappers.
Here are the sensor sizes OPPO could deploy
Back in May, a 1/1.3-inch main camera was tipped, along with a 1/1.28-inch periscope telephoto unit, and a 1/1.56-inch ultrawide sensor for the ultrawide camera. This could end up being accurate; we’ll see. It sounds about right, though.
The OPPO Find X9 and Find X9 Pro arrived in October last year, so their successors could follow in October this year. That means that we’re probably less than two months away from that point.
