- The Grand Tour has released our first look at the rebooted series.
- Show returns in September with three hosts and a familiar format.
- Trailer looks promising, but only time will tell how the season goes.
The Grand Tour returns on September 4 and Amazon is promoting the rebooted series with a new trailer starring hosts Francis Bourgeois, James Engelsman, and Thomas Holland.
While the clip is sliced together and doesn’t provide much context, it appears the trio will be competing in a cheap car challenge that includes an old BMW M3 Convertible, Porsche 911, and a hot hatch. This goes about as well as you’d expect as trouble quickly follows.

We can also get a glimpse of modern metal as the hosts will be testing the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Ford Mustang GTD, and Hennessey Venom F5 in California. A Pagani also makes an appearance as does Jenson Button.
The clip goes on to show the hosts messing around with boats and trying to assemble a school bus divided up into sections. There are also a few mishaps as well as a Tesla being launched into the air.
While the trailer doesn’t give much away, Amazon has previously said the group will “tackle motoring’s most pressing (and delightfully absurd) questions across some of the world’s most challenging terrains.” This includes “exploring Malaysia’s vibrant car culture” as well as “challenging fighter pilots and even an entire nation’s legal system.”
The new season will consist of six episodes and the trailer looks promising. However, there’s little doubt the rebooted show won’t have the same chemistry between the hosts. Jeremy Clarkson, James May, and Richard Hammond worked together for over 20 years and that kind of relationship can’t be easily replicated.
That being said, Engelsman and Holland are plenty familiar with each other due to Throttle House. 26-year-old Bourgeois is the odd man out as he’s notably younger and is best known for trains, not cars.
