At Porsche, the manual transmission has gone from on the verge of disappearing a decade ago to the company announcing a new one last week and offering more than almost any other automaker in the US. Serious demand from American buyers is the push behind it, and the company’s US CEO says that it will keep building the stick-shift cars for as long as it can.
