After flagship models and foldables, Samsung is continuing to expand its latest security update to more Galaxy devices. It’s now reaching mid-range and rugged models. The devices in question are the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A25, and Galaxy XCover 7, which have started receiving the July 2026 update in select global regions.

Samsung’s popular A-series mid-ranger, the Galaxy A56, is getting the July 2026 security update in Russia and Brazil. However, it is likely to expand to more regions in the next few days. The update carries the firmware version A566EXXSCCZG6. The download size and version number might vary depending on the region.Â
Meanwhile, the update for the Galaxy A25 is now live in Puerto Rico and carries the build number A256U1UESCEZG1. Lastly, the update for the Galaxy XCover 7 is now live across several Southeast Asian regions, like Vietnam, Thailand, and the Philippines. The build number for the device is G556BXXSHEZG2.
Key security fixes
As usual, the updates will roll out in phases, so it might not hit every unit right away. You can check for it manually by heading to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Ensure you are connected to a stable Wi-Fi network and the device is at least 40% charged.Â
Samsung’s July 2026 security release addresses 57 security vulnerabilities. Of which 41 are from Google as part of the Android Security Bulletin, and 16 are from Samsung. Among the 57 fixes, 42 are marked high-severity, 5 are critical, and 7 are moderate-severity. The update improves the system security and stability. So, if you own any of these models, make sure to install it.Â
As for what’s next, Samsung will debut One UI 9 next week and also its latest foldables and wearables. The OS will gradually roll out to all eligible models as per schedule.
