The very first smartphone with three 200MP cameras could be on the way, according to a new rumor. The information comes from Digital Chat Station, one of the best-known and most accurate tipsters around.
The very first smartphone with three 200MP cameras could launch this year
DCS went to Weibo to report that OPPO is currently testing a version of the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max with three 200MP cameras on the back. He does note that this is one of the engineering samples and that it’s not confirmed it will ever become a reality.
He did note that it’s possible this is the model the company will go with, though. Needless to say, that’s quite exciting. As a reminder, the OPPO Find X9 Ultra features two 200MP cameras on the back.
The tipster also noted that this engineering sample is fueled by the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro, one of the upcoming flagship processors. That will be a 2nm processor, in case you were wondering.
Cameras that OPPO is using seem rather good on paper, although we don’t have all the details
DCS went further to detail the three 200MP cameras that OPPO is using here. The main 200MP camera uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor size. The ultrawide 200MP camera uses a sensor size of 1/1.5 inches, while the periscope telephoto camera has a 200MP camera with a sensor size of 1/1.3 inches.
He also noted that OPPO hopes to keep this camera setup in the final production model. Nothing is guaranteed yet. This smartphone is expected to arrive in September or October, along with its Find X10 series siblings.
The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max is tipped to include Android 17 with ColorOS 17, along with a 6.89-inch LTPO OLED display from BOE. That panel will have a 2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate.
