Motorola seems too excited to wait for its own release schedule. While the official launch event in India is firmly locked for July 8, the company pulled back the curtain early by sharing a full technical breakdown of the Moto G77 Power, a phone that doubles down on extreme battery and a headphone jack, a fan-favorite legacy hardware feature that many modern devices have abandoned. The company already launched the standard Moto G77 earlier this year.
The Moto G77’s battery turns it into a power bank
The headline feature here is undeniably the humongous 7,000mAh battery pack. To put that into perspective, the standard Moto G77 relies on a smaller 5,200mAh capacity. Motorola claims this upgraded power cell can comfortably squeeze out up to 59 hours of continuous usage on a single charge. When the battery finally runs dry, users can top it up using 30W TurboPower wired charging or share some energy with a friend via 6W reverse wired charging.
Built for daily survival
Fortunately, the massive internal fuel tank does not turn the device into a complete brick. The chassis measures a reasonable 8.89mm in thickness and tips the scales at 215 grams. Motorola also integrated an IP64 dust and water resistance rating alongside a MIL-STD-810H durability certification. This means it should survive daily drops and accidental splashes without breaking a sweat.
On the front, the smartphone carries a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD screen capable of pushing a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The display layer utilizes Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection and reaches a peak brightness of 1,050 nits under intense sunlight. Under the hood, the device relies on MediaTek’s 6nm Dimensity 6400 processor paired with an ARM Mali-G57 GPU. Storage configurations top out at 128GB of internal space, which remains expandable up to an extra 1TB using a traditional microSD card slot.
Stabilized cameras and classic ports
Camera-wise, the rear setup has a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS). That primary shooter sits next to an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while a 32-megapixel front-facing camera handles selfies and video calls. Interestingly, both camera setups can lock in video recording up to 2K resolution.
Perhaps the most refreshing addition for audio purists is the inclusion of a dedicated 3.5mm headphone jack. For audio, owners will also find stereo speakers tuned with Dolby Atmos support. The smartphone runs Android 16 right out of the box, though software longevity is a bit short; Motorola only promises one major Android OS update alongside three years of security maintenance.
Official pricing remains hidden under wraps until the July 8 event. However, the listing highlights four distinct colorways developed in collaboration with Pantone: Impenetrable, Nautical Blue, Fuchsia Red, and Laurel Green.
The Android Headlines Take
Motorola has long offered quite attractive devices in the entry-level and mid-range segments. This one looks set to be another one, also integrating fan-favorite features that are becoming increasingly rare. However, the company continues to struggle with a significant problem in its support. No matter how affordable it is, shipping a device with only one guaranteed OS upgrade feels truly outdated.
