Bentley is getting ready to unveil its first electric model, which will be an SUV called the Bentley Torcal, which will be the fourth model in its lineup.
Bentley has released the first teaser photo of the Torcal ahead the official unveiling on September 23.

“Bentleys have been the most complete cars for 107 years – you get effortless performance, a soundtrack with soul and exquisite handcraftsmanship from the finest natural materials,” says Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley. “The new Torcal puts down some extraordinary benchmarks in all the right areas; one could say it is the most considered car we have ever made.”
The nomenclature is no accident. Much as with the Batur or Bacalar, the name is drawn from a striking piece of nature: El Torcal de Antequera in Andalusia, Spain. It is a dramatic part of the country famed for the limestone cliffs and mazes that have taken millions of years to form. Then there is the matter of performance. Bentley points out that Torcal is derived from the Latin torquere (to twist), the very root of “torque”.
Powertrain figures are not yet public, but the Torcal is expected to share some of its DNA with the Porsche Cayenne Electric.
