REDMAGIC has unveiled its compact tablet, the REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, in China. This will debut in global regions as the REDMAGIC Astra 2 later this month. The company claims it’s designed for a high-performance gaming experience, with a few industry-first hardware features. It’s claimed to be the industry’s first gaming tablet with an active liquid cooling system to dissipate heat during extensive gaming sessions and a 185Hz OLED eSports display.
The tablet will launch globally as REDMAGIC Astra 2
The REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro features a 9.06-inch 2.4K OLED display with up to 185Hz refresh rate, 90.1% screen-to-body ratio, 1,600 nits peak brightness, and narrow 4.9mm bezels. There’s AI adaptive lighting alongside SGS-certified low blue light and flicker-free performance to reduce eye strain during prolonged gaming sessions.
At the heart of the tablet is the 3nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, paired with REDMAGIC’s RedCore R4 gaming chip and Energy Cube 3.0. This “three-component intelligent system” balances heavy rendering workloads, touch responsiveness, and system efficiency.
The tablet incorporates REDMAGIC’s signature transparent design that showcases the active liquid cooling circulation system. Additionally, it also features a visible RGB lighting system powered by 11 precision-arranged LED units and proprietary light-guiding materials. These lights sync and dynamically respond during gameplay. The REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, aka Astra 2, features a rigid aluminum alloy frame that enhances structural durability.

8,300mAh battery, dual USC-C ports, and RGB lights
There’s a Synaptics S3930 touch solution for responsiveness. Internally, the tablet features a 0.48mm ultra-thin micro pump that continuously circulates coolant through nano-sealed tubing with minimal power consumption. Additionally, Liquid Metal 3.0 thermal material helps keep the device cool.
The REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro runs on REDMAGIC OS 11.5, with MORA AI Agent 2.0. The tablet packs an 8,300mAh battery with 80W fast charging support (Chinese model). The global variant may get different speeds. It has dual USB-C ports, offering greater flexibility during gaming sessions. The tablet gets a 1227 stereo speaker system, side-mounted fingerprint recognition, face unlock, and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port for high-speed data transfers.
The company claims in the press release that REDMAGIC Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is officially certified and used across top-tier mobile esports competitions, spanning FPS, MOBA, racing, and tactical shooter tournaments.
