Ultrahuman has today announced M2 Live, which is its second-generation continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) platform for the US. It has a lower price tag and also brings easier access. This should open up the space for more people, especially since CGMs are becoming increasingly common among non-diabetics.
Ultrahuman M2 Live simplifies continuous glucose monitoring with Abbott’s Lingo
While the company is selling people the product, users are basically buying access to Abbott’s medical-grade CGMs. For context, the Ultrahuman M1 Live used Abbott’s Freestyle Libre, which required a prescription in the US and was also more expensive. The M2 Live uses Abbott’s over-the-counter Lingo monitor, which syncs with the Ultrahuman app and combines its data with information from the Ultrahuman Ring. This should make its accessibility quite seamless.
Much like other companies in the space, Ultrahuman says glucose data is most useful when paired with activity and wellness metrics. Aspects like sleep, stress, and daily exercise all influence how your body processes glucose. Users can track their glucose with just a quick scan and visualize their metabolic health in real time with a Metabolic score ranging from 0 to 100.
There’s also a monthly subscription
It allows them to measure how different foods affect their glucose levels on a scale of 1 to 10. This allows them to optimize the ones that don’t work for them. There’s also spike detection in the mix. Ultrahuman’s AI platform, Jade, will analyze the data in real-time. It, as said, generates a metabolic score and provides personalized insights on your habits. Users will also get suggestions for improvements in areas where applicable.
The Ultrahuman M2 Live will be available in the US in the coming weeks via the company’s official website. A one-time purchase with a single sensor that you can use for 14 days will cost you $129. There’s a monthly subscription that users can opt for, and this will cost $99 per month.
