It seems Samsung is moving quickly to make its next major mobile experience much more stable. The company just started rolling out its third One UI 9 beta update (based on Android 17) for the Samsung Galaxy S26 lineup. The build introduces a massive wave of software fixes to keep the daily user experience running smoothly.
As SamMobile reports, this latest build weighs in at a hefty 1.7GB. The update is currently landing on devices across several countries, including the US, South Korea, India, Poland, Germany, and the UK. It also bundles the June security patch, ensuring your device stays protected while you test out the new features.
One UI 9 beta 3 update squashes the most noticeable bugs on Galaxy S26
If you have been running the previous beta versions on your flagship, you likely encountered a few rough edges. Samsung listened to community feedback for this release, targeting several UI and performance bugs.
On the visual side, the One UI 9 beta 3 update tackles a strange glitch that turned the background entirely white when receiving incoming phone calls. There was also a bug where pulling down the status bar resulted in a completely black background. Lock screen widgets for weather and battery tracking will now update their information correctly instead of freezing in place. Furthermore, if you rely on the built-in stylus, you will find that swiping left or right on the home screen with the pen works reliably again.
Camera and stability upgrades
The camera system also received some welcome attention. Users previously noticed that the camera preview screen would intermittently crop the view under specific conditions. Well, this has now been resolved. Plus, the changelog mentions that focus accuracy has been improved when zooming up to 30x.
Perhaps the most important fix involves overall system stability. The previous beta had a frustrating habit of forcing a device reboot out of nowhere while streaming video content. Beta 3 completely resolves this streaming error, allowing you to watch your favorite media uninterrupted.
How to download and install the latest build
If your device is already enrolled in the Samsung beta initiative, pulling down the latest software is a straightforward process. You simply need to navigate to your phone’s main Settings menu, scroll down to Software update, and select Check for updates. Also, it is highly recommended to connect to a stable Wi-Fi network and make sure that your smartphone has at least 30% battery power before starting the installation process.
