
Scenic Capital Advisors has acquired the Marriott San Antonio Airport hotel at 77 NE Interstate 410 Loop. The San Antonio Business Journal reports the firm took out a $36.8 million loan from Frost Bank as part of the transaction.
Bricton Group was the seller of the 367-key property, which it bought in 2019. It spent $36 million renovating the hotel, which had been a Holiday Inn. Bricton has over 2,500 hotel rooms under management throughout the United States,
Other area hotels that have traded recently include a trio of downtown properties. A Dallas firm recently bought the Home2 Suites by Hilton San Antonio Riverwalk, the Sonesta ES Suites was acquired by the San Antonio Housing Trust for an apartment conversion, and the lenders for the Thompson San Antonio – Riverwalk took over the asset in a foreclosure sale.
