Lenovo computers are going to get more expensive soon according to recent reports, but that shouldn’t shock anyone. It already raised the price of products like the Legion Go 2. Computing hardware brands from Dell to HP to Razer have all increased prices of laptops and desktops. The memory crisis is not prejudice when it comes to specific companies. All of them are reportedly spending more money on the components that make up these PCs. In turn, they have raised prices to offset those larger costs, and in the end the consumer pays.
Lenovo is one of the world’s largest computer brands, but even it isn’t immune to RAMageddon. While not all of its products will be going up in price by the same amount, it’s believed that some could go up considerably more than others. It’s also believed that it will happen across Lenovo’s entire slate of products.
More expensive Lenovo computers are coming by July, with prices rising as much as $150
Specific product models aren’t mentioned, but a recent report from Sina states that prices could rise by as much as $150. That doesn’t mean every product will go up by this amount. Likely, the most expensive products already, such as laptops, desktops, and the like, will be the ones to see this higher price hike.
While less expensive products like tablets may not go up by nearly as much. It’s worth noting that this isn’t necessarily confirmed by Lenovo, either. However, a price hike does make sense. Just about every other major consumer electronics company has taken this step. At least the most popular ones. Unfortunately, this kind of thing is becoming more and more common. As the memory crisis isn’t expected to end, with price increases following suit, until at least 2028 according to AMD.
That probably means consumers need to be prepared for continuing to pay high prices for these things. The other alternatives include finding cheaper computing options by making sacrifices on desired specs. Or simply avoiding the purchases altogether. Neither of which is an ideal outcome, but it’s the outcome consumers now have to deal with.
