The launch of the Steam Machine is one of the most highly anticipated gaming industry releases, perhaps second only to GTA 6 which is launching on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. While the mini cube-shaped gaming PC affectionately referred to as the Gabe Cube was originally planned to launch earlier in 2026, it was delayed due to the memory crisis.
Aside from an official launch date, the price is one of the only remaining details that’s still unclear. Though there are some suspicions. Earlier this year, it was rumored that the Steam Machine had already surpassed the price of the 1TB Steam Deck OLED after it had received it $300 price increase to $949. This means the Steam Machine is very likely more than $1,000. As for the launch date, while Valve hasn’t confirmed a specific day yet, it has confirmed that units would begin shipping in the Summer. Now, fans think they’ve found the day that Valve plans to launch from some information in the Steam Machine’s FCC filings.
The Steam Machine is suspected to launch before June 29
It’s worth noting that this is merely speculation and in no way concrete. However, it’s not impossible given the Summer time frame. According to some super sleuths on Reddit, FCC filings may point to a launch before June 29. Reddit user wayTooManyBugs does point out that this is strictly a maybe, so take this with a grain of salt. That being said, there’s still a small chance.
Based on the FCC filings, a variety of things pertaining to the Steam Machine showcase availability on June 29. This includes the user manual statement, internal and external photos, and test setup photos. Keep in mind that it’s not clear what the FCC filing’s dates mean. So these might not relate to the launch date at all.
The only clear detail at this moment is that Valve plans to ship Steam Machine units at some point this Summer. That means it could be as late as September.
