OnePlus is getting ready to launch a new series of phones, an ultra-budget series. We were actually the first to mention this not long ago, after which several new reports surfaced.
The OnePlus N series is the company’s new, upcoming ultra-cheap smartphone series
One such report appeared today, courtesy of Yogesh Brar, who shared the info with SmartPrix. That report claims that the new smartphone series will be the ‘N series’, and that the phones in it will cost less than Rs, 20,000, so less than $209. Well, at least “some models” will be priced under that level.
Do note that the report is India-related. There is a good chance that this N series of phones will be limited to India, especially with OnePlus’ situation in Europe and the US at the moment. There were plenty of reports mentioning that the company is leaving both markets, at least to a degree.
In any case, this new smartphone series will become official in July. That’s basically all the information that we have at the moment.
The cheapest model could be priced under Rs. 15,000 (under $150)
We’ve recently received a tip that the cheapest phone in the series will actually cost under Rs. 15,000 (so under $150). We’re not sure if that’s still accurate, as it’s possible OnePlus had to tweak prices due to component shortages.
Either way, we’re expecting to see very compelling specs on these OnePlus N series phones, despite their low price tags. OnePlus is really good at providing the absolute maximum for the asking price.
We do hope that some spec info will surface in the near future. Despite the price tag being where it is, we’re still expecting some OnePlus staples, like a 120Hz display, for example. As a reminder, the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite is currently the most affordable phone from the company.
