The OnePlus 16 launch date may have been leaked, or at least the general launch window, signifying that it might be coming sooner than some people think. The OnePlus 16 hasn’t officially been announced by OnePlus nor has the company given a firm release date, naturally, since the phone hasn’t been fully revealed yet.
However, it is more than likely dropping sometime later this year. If you go by the launch date of the OnePlus 15, then you’re looking at sometime around October. Of course, companies change launch dates all the time. And it would appear that OnePlus is looking to release its next flagship sooner than it did in 2025. Not several months sooner, but definitely earlier than October.
The OnePlus 16 launch date could happen sometime in September of this year
Although OnePlus hasn’t officially announced a launch date for this phone, or the phone itself, the latest rumor from Digital Chat Station on Weibo claims that it could be launching in September of this year. That would be around a month before the launch date of last year’s phone. This move would be in line with OnePlus’s cadence of releasing flagship devices earlier than the previous year.
That’s good news for OnePlus fans. However, DCS doesn’t say anything about a global release. The September time frame may not include the global release of the OnePlus 16, with regions outside of China coming at a later date. It’s simply unclear at the moment if OnePlus plans to launch in global regions at the same time.
In addition to the launch rumors, the OnePlus 16 has also been rumored to come with a 200MP main camera or a 200MP telephoto camera. But it won’t come with both. It’s also said to have a 9,000mAh battery and a 240Hz display. If all of that pans out, this will indeed be a powerful phone. One that’s likely highly sought after.
