Ulefone has just announced a new compact rugged smartphone, the Armor Mini 5. This smartphone comes with a standard T9 keypad, and despite that, it’s a smartphone and it has a touchscreen.
The company says that the phone is made for those who are seeking a dependable digital detox companion. It has military-grade protection and ships with Android OS. WhatsApp comes pre-installed.
The Ulefone Armor Mini 5 is a rugged phone with a physical T9 keyboard
The Ulefone Armor Mini 5 is IP68, IP69K, and MIL-STD-810H certified. It has a 2.8-inch touchscreen above its physical keypad. Ulefone also says that the phone supports “seamless blind operation even while wearing thick gloves or in low-visibility conditions.”
There is a 2,500mAh battery included on the inside, which is easily removable. Ulefone says that the phone can provide up to 12 days of typical use on a single charge. The device also supports 4G LTE connectivity; there’s no 5G here.
The Ulefone Armor Mini 5 includes 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. You can expand that via a microSD card, however, up to 64GB. Android 11 comes pre-installed, while dual SIM is supported.
The company markets this phone as a secondary smartphone, which is probably how many people will use it. The MediaTek MT6739 SoC fuels the phone, in case you were wondering.

A headphone jack is included, FM Radio is supported, and a rear-facing speaker is on board this phone. You’ll find a single 0.3-megapixel camera on the back, and a 0.3-megapixel camera sits on the front as well.
The Ulefone Armor Mini 5 is already available to purchase globally. You can buy it through the Ulefone Official Store, where it is discounted to $89.99; that’s its launch price. The phone’s regular price tag will be $109.99.
