Motorola will expand its Edge series with the new Edge 70 Pro+ on June 4th in India. Instead of holding back until the launch, the company has been aggressively promoting its sleek design, colors, and revealing some key camera features through teaser images. Ahead of its launch, the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ has now appeared on the Geekbench platform, cluing us in on what to expect in terms of hardware specs. Here’s everything we know.
Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ Geekbench listing reveals 12GB RAM and Android 16
It seems there are multiple Geekbench listings for the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+, with different scores. However, the core specs remain the same. The entries show it’ll boot Android 16 OS out of the box and pack at least 12GB RAM. There could be other options at launch, though. The motherboard section mentions the MT6899 octa-core processor with four cores at 2.20GHz, three at 3.20GHz, and one at 3.40GHz. It gets a Mali-G720 GPU to handle graphics.
All these suggest the upcoming Motorola phone will feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 SoC. For context, the regular Edge 70 Pro rocks the Dimensity 8500-Extreme chip. So the new model will probably get upgrades in other departments.
As for benchmark scores, one listing shows 1,668 in the single-core test and 6,567 in the multi-core round. On the other hand, the second listing reveals 1,722 and 5,623 single and multi-core scores. Evidently, the multi-core score of the latter is lower than that of the former. Beyond these, the Geekbench listings don’t reveal much about the Edge 70 Pro+.
The phone may feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chip
Indian online e-commerce platform, Flipkart, confirms it’ll feature a 50MP periscope telephoto lens using the Sony LYTIA 710 with 3.5x optical zoom. The Android phone will arrive in PANTONE Stormy Sea, PANTONE Chicory Coffee, and PANTONE Zinfandel shades.
Rumors note that the Motorola Edge 70 Pro+ is a rebrand of the Edge 70 Pro global (outside India) model. The difference between the Indian and global Edge 70 Pro is the 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto camera and wireless charging on the latter. We’ll know if that’s true when it launches on June 4th.
