The Return of the Gamma
This is your first look at the new Lancia Gamma. Launching later this year, the new Gamma will come with both hybrid and fully electric powertrains. Designed and produced in Italy, this crossover’s production units will come from Stellantis’ Melfi plant.
The Stellantis Group stated in its press release that the new Lancia Gamma is almost ready, with the first vehicles already undergoing road testing. It’s almost ready for primetime, and order books will be opened after the summer season.

The Gamma crossover is designed and produced in Italy by Lancia. In recent years, Lancia has come under the Fiat brand, and it has done a rather good job. While the rollout has been slow, we’re finally seeing another model apart from the rally-winning Corse.
Based on the STLA Medium platform, the Gamma crossover features a fastback design that tapers to a sleek, boxy rear. There is also an integrated spoiler at the back, and aside from the unified taillight, there is also an LED bar that stretches from the Lancia logo down to the base of the tailgate. There is also a rear diffuser at the back, which we can assume isn’t that functional, but it looks cool regardless.
The front of the car shares the same design cue as the rear, with the LED DRLs forming a nice T-shape on the front fascia. On its side, you have some unique wheels that might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but regardless, it’s certainly a clean-looking design that might even be better than the one that another Italian brand released. While it may not be a total callback to classic Lancias, it does look respectable and modern – in line with the brand’s current design identity.

As with any other electrified car, we get a lot of future-forward thinking in the design. The terraced design of the dashboard looks futuristic yet minimal. Thankfully, it appears there are at least some buttons we can expect from this crossover, and the screen situation is rather tame, at least in comparison to the other models out there.
Finally, we get to the interior color scheme, which looks like white over black. All the touchpoints appear to be finished in piano black, while the steering wheel is octagonal.
According to the teaser sent out by Stellantis for Lancia, the hybrid version of the Gamma will produce 145 horsepower and offer a range of up to 620 miles (1,000 kilometers). There will also be fully electric variants of the car, with 230 horsepower and a range of 335 miles, 240 horsepower and a range of about 460 miles, and a top-tier 375-horsepower AWD variant with up to about 420 miles of range.
