Infinix is expanding its budget lineup with a new Hot 70 phone that just launched in Indonesia. This arrives as a follow-up to the Hot 60 and Hot 50 series and focuses on premium design, enhanced structural durability, and a dedicated physical AI interface. The company also reportedly previewed the Infinix Hot 70 Pro. This is a high-tier variant with an upgraded design and superior specifications, as the name suggests.
Infinix Hot 70 features a temperature-responsive back cover
The Infinix Hot 70 features what the company calls “Dynamic Shine Design.” It features a slim profile, measuring just 7.49 mm in thickness, and weighs around 195 grams. The company claims the chassis is designed to withstand fingerprints, so it always maintains a clean look. Each colorway of the phone offers a distinguished look.
It comes in a total of six colors: Thermo Orange, Quiet Violet, Green Texture, Night Pulse, Silver Dancer, and Dive Blue. The former features a temperature-responsive back cover that utilizes Dual-Way Thermo Sensing Skin. It deepens to a saturated Deep Orange below 0 degrees Centigrade and lightens to a softer Light Orange at approximately 65 degrees Centigrade.
A physical button for AI features
As said, the Hot 70 introduces a dedicated physical One-Tap AI button. This allows users to bypass the app menu to access AI features. A short press of the button triggers One-Tap AI FlashMemo, which includes built-in intent recognition that captures and interprets on-screen data. For instance, it can automatically convert a flight detail found in a chat into a calendar event, extract contact information from a business card image, and more.
All captured data is apparently routed directly to AI MindHub, a centralized knowledge repository that automatically tags and categorizes screenshots, lecture notes, and media links to a single searchable index.
A long press of the AI button triggers Folax AI. It provides access to AI models, including ChatGPT and Google Gemini. The device also supports AI Custom Wallpapers and themes. Rest, there’s also Folax-Speaker Cleaner, which uses targeted sonic vibrations to clear dust and moisture accumulation from the speaker grills. It also gets Pure Voice, which leverages noise-cancellation algorithms to isolate vocals during voice calls in noisy environments.
6,000mAh battery, MediaTek chip, and a 50MP camera
The Hot 70 sports a 6.78-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and 700 nits high-brightness mode. It features a MediaTek Helio G100 Ultimate 6nm processor with ARM Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. It comes in two configurations: 6GB/8GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB/256GB UFS 2.2 storage. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and GNSS.
The Infinix phone runs on Android 16-based XOS 16 custom skin out of the box. For photography, it offers a 50MP main camera with f/1.85 aperture and 2K video recording and a secondary lens, whose purpose we don’t really know. On the front, there’s an 8MP shooter with dual-LED flash. For security, it offers a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The Infinix Hot 70 packs a large 6,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging and also 10W reverse charging. It’s also IP65-rated for dust and splash resistance.
The Infinix Hot 70 costs 2,199,000 IDR (~$124) for the base model and goes up to 3,399,000 IDR (~$191) for the top-end version. As said, there’s also the Hot 70 Pro, which will launch at a later date.
