One of the best-known tipsters around just shared some images of a tempered glass screen protects for Samsung’s wide foldable. This does give us another look at the phone’s form factor, kind of.
This is how wide Samsung’s upcoming foldable will be
If you check out the image below, you’ll see that screen protector on the left, while the image on the right has been made by the tipster to show you what the content would look like on screen.
One thing to remember here is that the bezels won’t be as thin on the actual device. This is just a screen protector. You’ll also get a display camera hole on this display. The display aspect ratio is accurate, it seems. This is the phone in its unfolded state, of course.
Here is its tempered glass screen protector next to one from the Huawei Pura X Max
The second image he shared, which is visible below, shows the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide’s screen protector next to the Huawei Pura X Max’s screen protector. This should give you an idea as to what the differences in aspect ratios are.

Samsung’s wide foldable will have a wider aspect ratio in general, close to 4:3, or exactly 4:3. The Huawei Pura X Max, on the other hand, has a 14.1:10 aspect ratio when unfolded.
Different display camera hole position
Ice Universe shared another image, which is shown below. That one shows a display camera hole inside a tempered glass screen protector, though that positioning seems like a surprise. Almost everyone expected it in a different spot, as the phone is supposed to unfold horizontally, not vertically. We’re not sure if this is accurate.

As a reminder, a recent rumor suggested the name of Samsung’s wide foldable. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide was just a placeholder. It is claimed that the device will be called the Galaxy Z Fold 8, while the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s successor will carry the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra name.
So, if the report is accurate. The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 will actually be the wide model, while the ‘Ultra’ variant will be the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s successor, the foldable with a near 1:1 aspect ratio on the inner display.
The rumored naming doesn’t make much sense
This doesn’t make all that much sense, and we do hope it’s not accurate. It remains to be seen. Both devices are expected to arrive in July. July 22 is actually rumored as the launch date.
