Despite the fact that we’re inching closer towards the official announcement for the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, the rumors are still conflicted. In the latest rumors, the potential dimensions of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max have been revealed, and it’s different from what we heard before.
iPhone 18 Pro dimensions revealed
In a photo shared by @MajinBuofficia on X, it appears that the dimensions of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are different from their predecessors. Tipster Abhishek Yadav also added that both phones will be taller and narrower. The rumored screen sizes potentially being 6.4-inches and 7-inches for the Pro and Pro Max respectively.
Assuming this leak is true, this might be the first time we’ve heard about this. This is because if you recall, past rumors have suggested Apple won’t be making any radical design changes to the phone. In fact, back in April, a video by Max Tech revealed the dummy units of the phones.
In the video, it suggested that Apple could make the camera lenses slightly bigger. But overall, the dimensions should remain the same. They went as far as showing that certain existing iPhone 17 cases could actually fit the upcoming iPhone 18 phones. However, the latest rumors that claim it will be taller and narrower suggests otherwise.Â
That being said, chances are most people would buy a new case anyway. Plus, if you’ve already got the iPhone 17, you’re probably not looking to upgrade anytime soon. Especially if the rumors are true that there won’t be any major changes.
What changes can we look forward to?
Speaking of changes, obviously there will be some upgrades. For starters, Apple is most likely going to feature the use of the A20 Pro chip. This could be a huge step up in terms of performance. Not only because it will probably be more powerful than the A19 Pro. It is also because it will be Apple’s first chipset built using TSMC’s 2nm process.
However, the iPhone 17 series is plenty powerful. Save for a small set of users, most people probably don’t even push the A19 Pro to its full potential anyway. Other than that, we can expect some upgrades to the camera along with new color options. Apple is expected to continue using aluminum for the iPhone 18.
This was to be expected, but hopefully the durability and color issues customers ran into with the iPhone 17 series has been addressed.
