Google’s Pixel smartwatches boast a variety of really useful features that make health tracking seamless. However, it’s not without its own set of problems, though. Based on reports online, it seems an annoying bug on the Pixel Watch is crashing the Find My Phone and ECG apps, leaving both functions unusable for many users. These two are really handy features that many might use regularly.
Pixel Watch users report that Find My Phone and ECG features are crashing
Reports from multiple users are now surfacing about Find My Phone and ECG apps being out of order. Folks at 9to5Google report that the Find My Phone function was currently unusable on two of their Pixel Watch units: a 41mm Watch 3 and a 45mm Watch 4. It seems that triggering the function just shows the splash screen pop-up before ultimately crashing, sending them back to the watch face.
There are multiple reports from users on Reddit facing a similar experience. This can be really annoying when you can’t find your phone and your Pixel wearable can’t come to the rescue. However, one user on Reddit pointed out that asking Gemini to find your phone works as an alternative solution. Gemini will ring your phone.

Recent app updates are probably the cause here
The report adds that while looking for more reports of this issue, they’ve spotted another issue, where the ECG app is also broken. Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 4 users report that when triggering the ECG app, it opens, but then crashes with an error screen that reportedly says “Reopen the app and try again.” The outlet (9to5Google) says they’re seeing the issue on their Pixel Watch 4, but not the Pixel Watch 3.
Currently, it’s unclear what’s causing the two functions to crash, but it seems many users are facing the issue. The last major update for the Pixel smartwatches was the March 2026 update. But it doesn’t seem to be the culprit here, as these issues have surfaced in the past few days. App updates are likely to blame here.
