The HYM Investment Group (HYM) and My City at Peace (MyCAP) have filed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Boston Planning & Development Agency for the redevelopment of 2100 Dorchester Ave., the former Carney Hospital site. The proposed $850-million redevelopment would transform the former 12.8-acre hospital site into a mixed-use Dorchester Health Campus centered on healthcare access, housing and community connectivity, the developers said.
Formerly owned by Steward Health Care, the hospital has been closed since 2024 following the Steward bankruptcy. HYM signed an agreement in October with current site owner Apollo Global Management to create a plan to redevelop the Carney space, the Boston Business Journal reported.
In a statement, HYM CEO Thomas N. Obrien and MyCAP founder Rev. Jeffrey Brown said, “This filing reflects extensive community feedback and a shared commitment to restoring healthcare uses on campus, expanding local housing opportunities and enhancing connectivity on a site that has long been a cornerstone of the neighborhood.”
