Why do we have to pay for cloud storage and ad-free video streaming completely separately? That is the question that many users of Google services have been asking for years. Google One was the go-to spot for your photos and files, while YouTube Premium handled your entertainment. So, merging them felt like a total no-brainer, right? But sadly, it never happened. Fortunately, Google finally fixed this disconnect at its I/O 2026 conference by throwing YouTube Premium video streaming perks straight into its premium One subscription plans.
YouTube Premium now bundled in Google One AI paid plans
The company is distributing different versions of its video service depending on how much you want to spend each month. If you are currently on the $20-per-month Google One AI Pro plan, you will now get a YouTube Premium Lite subscription at no extra cost.
The Lite tier isn’t quite as feature-packed as the full version. However, it still strips away the annoying ads on regular videos, and it keeps background play and offline downloads fully active. If you scale up to the top-tier Google One AI Ultra plan—which just got a $100/month version—the bundle upgrades you to a full, unrestricted YouTube Premium membership. Of course, this includes full access to ad-free YouTube Music as well.

The math actually makes sense now
This move makes Google One incredibly attractive, even if you don’t care about AI tools. Over the last few months, Google has been quietly packing features into these plans. Recently, the company added both Google Home Premium and Google Health Premium to the list.
When you sit down and add up the individual costs of smart home tools, health tracking, and ad-free streaming, the value you get back basically covers the entire $20 fee. It turns the AI Pro plan into an absolute steal for anyone who just wants a massive 5TB cloud backup for their personal files.
Where can you get it?
According to the official announcement, the rollout is hitting active accounts over the next few weeks. The update covers more than thirty countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and a huge chunk of Latin America and Europe. On top of that, if you are already on the AI Pro plan but want the absolute full YouTube experience, Google is offering custom discounts to let you upgrade your bundled Lite plan for cheap.
