Scosche recently sent over a number of their products, including the MagStack USB-C Cable. This isn’t a typical USB-C cable either, as it has a magnet running the length of the cable. You might be wondering, what’s the point of this? And you’re not alone.
The company says that this makes sure the cable never gets tangled again, and it also makes it easier to coil for travel. I recently took the 6-foot MagStack USB-C cable with me to Google I/O, and that’s when it became apparent to me that this was more than just a gimmick.
Being able to coil up this cable and toss it into my bag was really nice. But the fact that it stays coiled up and doesn’t get tangled with other cables in my backpack was the cherry on top.
It’s also great because this is a very long cable, so using the magnets inside, you can shorten the cable, instead of having a long cable draped across a table or desk. This is especially useful in a hotel room, where you might have an AC outlet very nearby. While it’s really not a huge deal, it does make a difference.

Say goodbye to tangled USB-C cables
USB-C cables can get tangled up quite often, especially when you travel with multiple USB-C cables. In fact, my Pixel Watch charger got tangled with another USB-C cable I took with me. But the MagStack USB-C cable was perfectly fine.
Now, if you don’t travel a lot and don’t bring cables back and forth to work or other places, this may not be a big deal to you. And that’s fair, as these are a bit more expensive than regular USB-C cables. Though keep in mind that these are also braided cables, so they are going to last a lot longer than just the plastic-coated cables.
Scosche sells the MagStack cables in USB-C to USB-C, USB-C to USB-A, and USB-C to Lightning options, with 3.3-foot and 6-foot options available. The 6-foot USB-C to USB-C cable is available in six colors for $29.99. As I said, they are more expensive, but so far, I do think they are worth the premium price.
