We’ve received some interesting information about an upcoming OnePlus phone. The company is allegedly working on an extremely affordable smartphone, even by the OnePlus Nord CE Lite series’ standards.
This could become the cheapest OnePlus phone to date
That OnePlus phone will cost less than ₹15,000, aka Indian rupees. If we transfer that to dollars, it means that it will cost less than $150. Needless to say, this is an outstanding price tag, especially in this day and age.
We’re still not sure when the device will arrive, but it’s allegedly coming. It will launch in India, but we’re not sure about other markets. It could also be a bit more expensive elsewhere if it leaves Indian soil.
Do note that we’re still not 100% sure the information is correct, so take the information with a grain of salt. We’ll, of course, update you if we hear more about it, as we’re tuned in.
The OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite is nowhere near that price tag
For comparison’s sake, the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite launched at ₹31,999 ($330) in India. It is now discounted and costs ₹20,999 ($217), but its price tag will go up. So even at a considerable discount, the OnePlus CE6 Lite costs more than this phone will.
We are wondering what specs will this ultra-budget phone offer. OnePlus will be quite limited in that regard, due to such a low price tag. However, the OnePlus Nord CE6 Lite does include the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Apex chip, a 6.72-inch 144Hz LCD display, and a 7,000mAh battery.
So, the company already managed to squeeze in quite a nice set of specs in a budget phone. Let’s see where will it cut costs with the new device… if it comes to fruition. We’ll let you know if we get more information.
