After multiple leaks and rumors, Xiaomi has officially confirmed the Xiaomi 17T series launch date. In line with the recent leak, the flagships will debut globally on May 28th, much ahead of the predecessors. For comparison, the Xiaomi 15T series debuted in September last year. Xiaomi is calling them the “biggest T-series upgrade yet,” which the leaked promo images seem to be suggesting. The Xiaomi 17T series will get Leica optics, with a 5x telephoto lens.
Xiaomi 17T series finally gets a launch date
The Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro will arrive with MediaTek Dimensity chips, with the former getting Dimensity 8500-Ultra and the latter featuring the Dimensity 9500. As a refresher, the 15T and 15T Pro arrived with Dimensity 8400-Ultra and Dimensity 9400+.
The Xiaomi 17T will get a 6.59-inch 120Hz eye-care display, while the 17T Pro may get a larger 6.83-inch screen with a higher 144Hz refresh rate. Both phones may use an AMOLED panel. The Xiaomi 17T could house a 6,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging, while the 17T Pro may get a bigger 7,000mAh cell with a faster 100W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The upgrades will come at a cost, though
In terms of photography, the Xiaomi 17T series will house Leica optics, much like the predecessors. Both models may get a 50MP main camera, with the 17T expected to bring a Light Fusion 800 main sensor, while the 17T Pro could carry a Light Fusion 950 sensor. Besides this, they might house a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide angle lens. For your selfie needs, the Xiaomi 17T series could house a 32MP shooter on the front.
The Xiaomi 17T could arrive in two models: 12GB RAM with 256GB/512GB. Meanwhile, the 17T Pro may rock 12GB RAM and 512GB/1TB storage options. The phones are likely to boot HyperOS 3 custom skin out of the box with a bunch of AI features.
That said, these upgrades will come at a cost, as leaks claim the Xiaomi 17T series will start at €749 (~$872) and €999 (~$1,163), respectively. The leaked renders revealed that the Xiaomi 17T will arrive in black, white, purple, and blue. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 17T Pro could get black, purple, and blue shades.
