The upcoming Xiaomi 17 Max will feature a 200MP main camera, and that camera could end up providing huge photo files. Well, only if you shoot in full resolution, though, of course, as pixel binning will be on by default.
The Xiaomi 17 Max camera samples are here
In any case, Xiaomi shared some camera samples taken with the Xiaomi 17 Max. You can see those photos below. They all look really good, and you can clearly see Leica influence here, no question about it.
The original image of one of these camera samples has a file size of 117MB, which s really out there. Other phones usually provide file sizes between 50 and 100MB, but this particular one is considerably above that level.
The Xiaomi 17 Max probably won’t make its way to global markets, but in case you’re planning to buy it, you may want to avoid the base storage model… well, if you’re planning on shooting in full resolution instead of utilizing pixel binning.
The phone’s 200MP photos will have gigantic file sizes at max resolution
The Xiaomi 17 Max will utilize a 1/1.4-inch 200MP sensor and support multi-frame fusion algorithms for better dynamic range, the company’s president confirmed. This combines several exposures and data layers to offer better images.
The phone will launch at some point this month, as Xiaomi confirmed its design a couple of days ago. It definitely looks like it’s a member of the Xiaomi 17 family, that’s for sure.
The device is said to pack a large 6.9-inch display, along with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, Qualcomm’s best chip. An 8,000mAh battery will also be a part of the package, as will a 3x periscope telephoto camera. The phone will arrive in three colors: Black, White, and Blue.
